Peru La Margarita – Geisha Washed Lot 003
Peru La Margarita – Geisha Washed Lot 003
Good for you if: you want a special‑occasion filter coffee that feels closer to fine tea or white wine than “normal” coffee—super clean, floral, and sweet with high clarity.
La Margarita comes from La Margarita Coffee Reserve in Valle de Ocombamba, Cusco, a small farm run by the Solórzano family and recognized in Peru’s Cup of Excellence rankings for its Gesha lots. Cherries from high‑elevation plots around 1,940–1,950 MASL are hand‑picked at full ripeness, carefully sorted, then given an anaerobic pre‑fermentation before a classic washed process and slow drying, to maximise clarity, florals, and refined sweetness.
In the cup, expect jasmine and orange blossom on the aroma, then white peach, yellow nectarine, mandarin, and white grape wrapped in candy‑like sweetness and a riesling‑style acidity. As filter it shows a light, silky, tea‑like texture with layers of fruit and florals that keep opening as the cup cools—perfect for quiet morning brews, cupping with friends, or a personal “treat yourself” session.
