MXO Coffee Roastery exists for one simple reason: refusing to settle for average coffee in a city that deserves world‑class quality. What began as Felix Sunasli’s pandemic curiosity in 2020 quickly turned into a relentless obsession with specialty coffee, roast consistency, and flavor clarity—now culminating in MXO Coffee Roastery, opening early 2026 in Medan as an intimate café–roastery with a dedicated roasting and cupping lab upstairs.

Felix is a certified Q Grader and SCA Roasting Professional whose daily work is focused on sourcing and roasting coffees that express nuance, balance, and a sense of place. Along the way, he has tested his skills on national stages, earning titles such as Medan Aeropress Champion and a podium finish at Siantar Coffee Fest Cup Taster, experiences that sharpen his palate and discipline behind every roast.

At MXO, the focus is on exotic, rare Indonesian and international coffees, roasted with high precision yet presented in a warm, approachable way. Guests can move between delicate filter coffees, classics like latte and dirty coffee, our signature cold brew mocktail “The Hangover,” and Nasi Simangunsong, all within a 32‑seat space designed to bring people as close as possible to the craft and aroma of roasting.

MXO serves home brewers, café partners, and travelers who genuinely care about what’s in their cup and want a local Medan roastery they can be proud to introduce to friends and guests. Customers are treated as friends and partners: through cupping events, overseas tastings in places like Penang, and unhurried conversations at the bar, MXO invites people into the journey behind every bag, every batch, and every rare coffee that leaves the roastery.
