Frequently Asked Questions

Orders & roasting

Q: When do you roast my coffee?

MXO roasts in small batches several times a week, so most orders ship within a few days of roasting, and every bag carries a roast date on the label.

Q: How long should I rest the coffee before brewing?

For most MXO coffees, letting the beans rest after roast will improve sweetness, balance, and consistency.

- Filter roast: good from day 14–20, usually best around day 30–50.

- Espresso – lighter roast: behaves well from day 20–30, often peaks around day 30–50.

- Espresso – darker roast: ready from day 10–20, typically peaks around day 25–40.

Q: Can I request a specific grind size?

Yes. You can choose whole bean or common grind options (V60, espresso, French press, etc.) on each product page so the coffee arrives ready for your setup.

Shipping & delivery

Q: How long will my order take to arrive?

Most Indonesian orders arrive in 2–5 working days after dispatch, depending on your city and the courier service selected at checkout.

Q: Do you ship outside Indonesia?

Not yet. MXO currently focuses on roasting and delivering within Indonesia only, so international shipping is not available for now; it is planned for the future and will be announced on the website and social channels when ready.

Q: How do I track my order?

Once your order is packed, a tracking number and link are sent via email and WhatsApp notification, so you can follow the shipment status directly with the courier from both channels.

Coffee choices & brewing

Q: Which MXO coffee is best for milk‑based drinks?

MXO blends like Blackthorn and other house espressos are designed to cut through milk with chocolatey, bold flavours, while many single origins are lighter and fruitier for black coffee.

Q: Which coffee should I buy for filter?

Look for MXO’s filter‑focused single origins and exotic lots; these are roasted lighter to highlight clarity, fruit, and florals for V60, Kalita, and batch brew.

Q: How should I store my beans?

For 100–200 g bags, MXO uses bags without a one‑way valve to better preserve aromatic volatile compounds; keep them in the original bag, gently press out excess air, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dark, dry place. For 500 g and 1 kg bags, MXO uses one‑way valve packaging so excess gas can escape while protecting the coffee from oxygen—again, squeeze out air before sealing and store cool and dark.

For long‑term storage or special coffees, you can weigh out single doses, vacuum‑seal each dose, and freeze them; this helps preserve the coffee many times longer than room‑temperature storage, and you can grind each portion directly from frozen for more even particle size and consistent shots or brews.

Payments, returns & order issues

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

MXO accepts major bank transfers, virtual accounts, e‑wallets, and selected cards through the secure payment gateway at checkout.

Q: Can I change or cancel my order?

If you made a mistake, contact MXO as soon as possible with your order number—changes are usually possible before the order is roasted and dispatched.

Q: What if my coffee arrives damaged or incorrect?

If your parcel or coffee arrives damaged, or you receive the wrong item, please contact MXO within the stated claim period with your order number and a clear, unedited unboxing video showing the package from the moment it is first opened; this video is required so MXO can verify the issue with the courier and process your claim. Once the evidence has been reviewed, MXO will help with a replacement or other solution according to the roastery’s policy.
