Ethiopia Alo Chilaka Mini – Peaberry Washed (Rare) by Tamiru Tadesse
Ethiopia Alo Chilaka Mini – Peaberry Washed (Rare) by Tamiru Tadesse
Good for you if: you love bright, elegant Ethiopians that feel like citrusy tea with soft fruit and flowers layered on top—clean enough for everyday brews, but detailed enough to slow down and really taste.
This is a rare mini peaberry selection from Chilaka Station in Bensa, Sidama, grown by Tamiru Tadesse at 2,300–2,400 masl—one of the highest‑altitude lots in the Sidama region. The peaberry bean, naturally rounded and dense from single‑seed development inside the cherry, tends to roast more evenly and concentrate flavour more intensely than flat beans from the same lot. Processed as a classic washed coffee with no additional fermentation, the cup stays ultra‑clean and transparent: lemon tea and pear open the cup, peach adds a soft stone‑fruit sweetness mid‑palate, and lavender carries a long, floral, refined finish that lingers well past the last sip.
